A free book every month for children under age 5

The presence of books in the home supports a child's academic, social and emotional development.  Children develop a special bond with their parents and caregivers by reading together. 

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library books are new, specially-selected, age-appropriate, high-quality books that are delivered to registered children every month, from birth until they are 5 years old, regardless of your family's income. These books are personalized with the child's name and mailed directly to their home, this effort makes books exciting and shows that the child someone is thinking of them. Many are classics, beloved by parents and children alike.

Supported by the JF Enrichment Fund, this program is free to families living Colchester County, Nova Scotia, including Truro and its surrounding communities.
